Alyssa is the model of " a lover not a fighter". She does not believe in killing or war, and tries to teach her students control and calmness. Alyssa would rather read poetry than watch a sword fight, but oddly enough she loves a healthy dose of competition. She is glad that her powers are not something that could physically harm another being because then she wouldn't be sure if she could even use them. Alyssa loves teaching, loves kids and hopes one day to have a family. That thought is also hand in hand with the fear of loosing that family due to her gift.

Alyssa had a normal childhood in fact she was completely void of any powers all the way up until her senior year in college. She was born to two loving parents, and had a little sister who she loved with all of her heart. Things had been almost like a fairy tale for her. She had graduated from her High School at the top of her class and was soon accepted into Yale. Her collegues wanted to be senators, Doctors, and Lawyers but she had wanted something different. Something that she had been dreaming of being since her first day of high school: a teacher. The classes went on and so did the years. She graduated from Yale with high honors and immediately took a job in France at a University teaching students there. While in France she became best friends with a girl named Becca.
She and Becca were out one night when Becca had too much to drink. The two girls started arguing and left for the University at almost three in the morning. They were barely speaking to eachother and thats when a man struck. He had a gun in his hand and he ordered the girls to give him their money. Alyssa was reaching for hers when Becca refused and started yelling at the man. Befoer either of the girls knew what was happening the man grabbed Becca and she convulsed like she was being electrocuted she then fell to the ground dead. Adrianna had screamed and when she did he grabbed her as well. Adrianna was sure she would soon be joining her friend and thats when the volts stoped. The had ended suddenly and the man looked confused. Alysa had done the only thing she knew to do: punch him in the face. The man had went down and Alyssa called the police.
The next day she had recieved a letter in the mail explaining everything and a University that was in need of Gifted teachers like herself. She has just begun teaching at the University and loves it.
